What kind of volunteer training is required? An initial, comprehensive, 7 session volunteer training course as well as ongoing educational offerings is provided. An abbreviated training program for office and fundraising volunteers is also available. If you have had the recent loss of a loved one, we ask that you wait a 12-month bereavement period before providing direct volunteer patient support. 2010 Volunteer Training Schedule Classes are scheduled Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5pm - 8pm August 21 - September 13 - in Petoskey, Michigan August 18 - September 13 - in Charlevoix, Michigan September 11- September 18 - in Bellaire, Michigan and will include two all day sessions on Saturdays from 9am - 4pm - one Monday evening from 5-8pm)
